Tuesday Practice Report

FOOTBALL

The Dawgs (5-6, 3-5 SEC) returned to practice today, their first workout since last Saturday's loss at No. 2 Auburn (11-0, 7-0). Georgia will enjoy an open date this weekend before hosting intrastate rival Georgia Tech (5-5, 3-4 ACC) the following  Saturday.

The Dawgs began concentrating on the Jackets' option offense.

"Practice today was a start," head coach Mark Richt said. "It's always tough to simulate their offense. The better job the scout team does, the better chance we have. It wasn't anything to write home about, but it was a start."

Quarterback Aaron Murray, who suffered a bruised knee and bruised sternum against Auburn, did not practice and remains day-to-day.

Kick-off for the showdown with the Yellow Jackets is set for 7:45 p.m. at Sanford Stadium, and the contest will be televised nationally on ESPN.
