The most difficult task for junior punter Drew Butler this season is to try and top what he did last year.
Butler in his first season as the Dawg’s starting punter led the nation with a 48.1 yard average, won the Ray Guy Award, was named first team All SEC and made a number of All American teams. His longest punt last year was 75 yards in the Oklahoma State season opener. Butler punted a total of 56 times for 2,691 yards in 2009 and had 19 of those downed inside the 20 yard line, 10 were fair caught and 5 were downed in the end zone. Butler has not had a punt blocked.
Red-shirt sophomore Ty Frix returns as the long snapper, he performed well enough last year to be awarded a scholarship during the off season.
