Tuesday Practice Report

FOOTBALL

The Dawgs (0-2) practiced in full pads for nearly two and a half hours in temperatures into the 90s on Tuesday afternoon, conditions coach Mark Richt said his team needed.

"It was definitely very hot today," Richt said. "They were tested and fought through it very well. It was very different than last Tuesday when we practiced in 71 degrees. They needed this and they handled it."

The Dawgs are preparing for Saturday's non-conference matchup with Coastal Carolina (2-0) at 1 p.m. at Sanford Stadium.

"This is another team that understands winning," Richt said. "They were conference champions a year ago. When you watch them play, they execute well, they run hard, they tackle physical and they are productive in the things that they do. I promise you they are going to show up looking to knock us off. We're looking to play the very best we can, improve as much this Tuesday as we did last Tuesday and everyday our focus must be on finding ways to get better."
